Paul McKinney: A Long Time Player of Poker

Paul McKinney started playing poker when he was seven years old. And now that he is more than eighty years old, he is still very much active in the poker industry. He is known as one of the veterans in the poker world, having played longer than most poker professionals we know of today.

Paul McKinney started to be visible in major poker tournaments in May 1998. This was when he became one of the players of the No Limit Hold'em event at the 29th Annual World Series of Poker tournament. He became the ninth placer and had the opportunity to take home US$57,500.

At the 30th Annual World Series of Poker, Paul McKinney also displayed his admirable abilities in playing poker by ending up as the fifth placer in a Pot Limit Hold'em event, which allowed him to take home US$25,245. This poker professional was determined to be an active player of the World Series of Poker as he went on participating in the 31st Annual World Series of Poker. The event he joined was a No Limit Hold'em game, finishing in the money and taking home US$25,000. At the 32nd Annual World Series of Poker, Paul McKinney placed 23rd after playing the Limit Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo game.

This poker professional joined the same game at the 33rd Annual World Series of Poker, placing 16th and winning US$2,960. Fourteen days later, this poker professional tried his luck in a Limit Hold'em and Seven Card Stud game. He did not emerge as the first place winner, but nevertheless, he reached the final table and placed eighth. The cash prize he took home from such game was US$5,420. This poker professional also participated in two events of the 34th Annual World Series of Poker. The first one was a Pot Limit Hold'em event that made him the third placer and the other one was a Limit Triple Draw event that put him in the seventh place spot.

Paul McKinney was not seen at the 35th Annual World Series of Poker but he definitely made a mark when he participated in the 36th Annual World Series of Poker tournament. On July 2, 2005, this poker professional won first place in a No Limit Hold'em event that was conducted exclusively for seniors. With his vast experiences as a poker professional, everyone who watched and participated in the game knew that Paul McKinney deserved to win that particular event. Aside of course from the World Series of Poker bracelet, he also won US$202,725. Ten days later, he participated in the same event but he only placed 43rd. Nevertheless, he received the cash prize worth US$2,560.

At the 37th World Series of Poker tournament, Paul McKinney was also seen playing a No Limit Hold'em game. He was fortunate to place tenth and to earn US$43,530.

Apparently, this poker professional has always been very active with his participation in World Series of Poker events. But his achievements in the World Series of Poker are only some of his overall achievements in the poker industry. Paul McKinney is definitely one poker professional who is being idolized by many.
